Abstract Submission
Abstract may only be submitted in English, and should not exceed 250 words. Applications for presentations of scientific paper are open only to registered delegates.All abstracts must be submitted for analysis, classification and approved by the Scientific Committee.
Your abstract, if accepted, will appear in its full form in the supplement issue of the journal, which will be available either on a compact disc or on paper. In addition, all participants will receive a Final Program. The Final Program will contain the Conference Program and a list of abstracts that are to be presented either orally or as posters.
The abstract should contain:
Title, authors, institution, city and country
Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions
It is author’s responsibility to submit a correct abstract. Any errors in spelling, grammar, or scientific fact will be reproduced as proposed by the author.
Acknowledgement of receipt of your submission will be distributed via e-mail. If you do not receive an e-mail, that will mean that your submission was not completed and needs to be re-done.
Notification of acceptance or rejection of the abstracts will be e-mail by April 15, 2004.

Only the presenting author will receive mail concerning the abstract and it responsible for informing all co-authors of the status of the abstracts.
1. Submission via the internet
Abstracts should be received no later than March 31, 2004 if done electronically via Internet at www.cottisa.org It will be availble around November 2003.
By submission an abstract via the Internet, you will automatically be assigned a Personal Page from which you will be able to follow the status of your abstract, make changes on it (until deadline only) and receive other valuable information.
You can access your Personal Page from the Conference home page www.cottisa.org by using the password included in the e-mail that you will automatically receive upon submission of the abstract.
Changes to abstract can only be accepted until the deadline using your Personal Page.
Follow the instructions shown on the screen.
Use the drop down menus to insert special characters, scientific or other, and to insert formatting such as bold face, italic, new line, tables, etc.

2. By using the enclosed abstracts from PLUS the abstract on a diskette
When filling in the abstract form please follow the layout instructions below.
Submit one original abstract only, no copies are needed.
Type within the gray lines.
The abstract on the diskette should be written in the same format as shown on the sample provided in the second announcement (without the frames).
Carefully provide the same information as requested for the submission on the paper form.
3. Using the enclosed abstract form
Box1 Type the full name, address, telephone and fax number of the presenting author. The presenting author is responsible for passing information to the co-authors.
Box2 Type the title of the abstract in mixed case letters.
Box3 Type the body of the abstract single-spaced throughout. Do not squeeze lines close together, Use no less than 11 and no more that 12 pitch (character per pitch or 2.5 cm) or if you are using a computer, use 11 or 12 point type only. If you have a choice, please use the typeface (font) Times New Roman. Use Arabic numerals for all numbers. Keep abbreviation to a minimum and define each one when it is used for the first time (except STI, STD, HIV and AIDS). Simple tables and graphs (computer generated or neatly draw in black ink) may be included if they fit within the allotted rectangle.
Box4 The presenting author must specify the type of presentation, and provide the key search words, as well as a signature to the rules and regulation listed on the form.
Box5 Type the co-authors’ names. Please do not repeat the name of the presenting author. Please mail or courier the form or the diskette to Congress Secretariat.
